*UPDATED* #OccupyWallStreet: The Rap Sheet, So Far

by John Nolte
***Updated 12/9/2011– Today we hit incident 417.
New commentary has been added. Original commentary can be found below the Rap Sheet.
Don’t let the MSM get away with lying to you. Obama and the Democrats are all on record endorsing, embracing, encouraging and emboldening #OccupyWallStreet.
——
The plan was a simple one. The path to Obama’s second term requires that enough voters forget that our current economic woes are the fault of a failed President who enjoyed two years of having every single item on his wish-list passed by Congress. And so the idea was to create Occupy in order to give the MSM the cover they desired to spend every single day up until the election talking about greed and income inequality in order to blame both for the stagnant economy.
The hope was that by repeating this message incessantly, enough voters could be convinced that Wall Street, and by extension, evil Republicans, were to blame for our chronic unemployment, record deficits, and stillborn economic growth. President Obama who?
—–
Fortunately for America, this plan has not only failed miserably it has backfired completely. Thanks to the rise of New Media and our unwillingness to let the MSM’s lies, bias, and cover ups stand for even one more day, Occupy is in its death throes and might take the President and Democratic party down with it. First and foremost, we uncovered the lie that Occupy was grassroots and then we exposed every Occupy rape, poop, death, overdose, old woman thrown down the stairs, attack on a police officer, and public act of masturbation. In the process, public opinion turned against the Occupiersand as a result these Leftists have started doing what the Left always does when they lose … have a tantrum:

Recently, President Obama said that the Occupiers are just like the Tea Party.
That’s a lie.
We need to keep this list updated and comprehensive. Please email whatever I might have missed and any future incidents to jnolte@breitbart.com or tweet them to @NolteNC.
One of the secret weapons the corrupt mainstream media uses in their never-ending quest to Palace Guard for the left is context. For example, when it came to the Tea Party, the MSM was notorious for amplifying a single incident (that was usually a lie) and using it to attempt to smear and define an entire movement. This is what you do when you want to quickly take out a political enemy.
The MSM’s contextual game changes, however, when their desire is to strengthen a movement and give it credibility and room to grow. By dutifully reporting individual incidents but not reporting on the growing scope and size of Occupy Wall Street lawlessness, the MSM is willfully covering up the violence, vandalism, and anti-Semitism that truly does define this movement. Moreover, by intentionally keeping the pieces of this story scattered, the MSM is allowed to have their cake and eat it too. No one can accuse them of not reporting these incidents, but by choosing not to bring the pieces together, the MSM ensures the least amount of public relations damage is done to the Occupiers.
What I’ve collected below is far from comprehensive but still shows over 75 incidents of sexual assault, violence, vandalism, anti-Semitism, extortion, perversion, and lawlessness.
The MSM could easily tell the story of how this violence-prone movement is becoming an increasing threat to our society. After all, my research below is the result of nothing more than Twitter and Google. Among others, The New York Times, Washington Post, Politico, and the LA Times have willfully chosen not to use the resources at their disposal to give the public an honest look at this growing menace. In their partisan minds, truth doesn’t trump agenda.
A few notes on the list below. Whenever possible, I traced the incident back to the original news source. I was as careful as possible when it came to duplicate postings, though I would guess there are a few in here. There are also less than five examples that don’t involve what I would qualify as outright lawlessness but do help to expose the Occupiers for who and what they really are. Finally, and this is the most important way in which the list is imperfect, I most certainly wasn’t able to document everything. A perfect list would be much more alarming than the one I slapped together in just a few hours.
What is true is that on October 18, pollster Doug Schoen (a Democrat!) discovered that a full 31% of Occupiers were willing to commit violence in pursuit of their agenda, whatever that is. As a response to this startling and frightening admission, the MSM either outright ignored or dismissed it. What you’ll see below proves that at least when it comes to their willingness to break the law, the Occupiers are keeping their word.
The list is in no particular order. Like the Occupiers themselves, it’s unruly, disorganized, messy and not focused solely on the nation’s media centers. The movement is spreading across America and bringing with it their outrageous and appalling behavior.
On top of everything else, imagine the drain all this lawlessness has on law enforcement resources. My list doesn’t even include the collateral damage. Thanks to Occupy Wall Street’s drain on police personnel, shootings increased 154% in New York alone. What is it in Chicago, Seattle, Boston, Oakland, and Cleveland?
Just last week Vice President Joe Biden was all freaked out about the possibility of crime rates increasing if Congress didn’t pass Obama’s Son of Stimulus. Well, that premise was based on a lie, but the same White House trying to sell that bill of bull isn’t at all concerned with the very real increase in crime caused by the Occupiers they encourage.
Please keep the tips coming. Email me at jnolte@breitbart.com.

Top Ten Democrats Who Would Be Better Presidential Candidates Than Barack Obama in 2012

by Joel B. Pollak
The primary field really is bad–for Democrats. As the media and voters scrutinize the Republican contenders, it is easy to forget how weak and unpopular the incumbent is. Polls suggest a majority of Americans want to replace President Barack Obama in 2012, and Democrats are hitting the panic button–even as Obama enjoys a slight bounce in approval–because they realize he has failed.
In the end-of-the-year countdown spirit, here are the top ten Democrats who would be better presidential candidates than Barack Obama in 2012:
***
10. Harold Ford, Jr.
Losing his Senate race in 2006 seems to have freed the former Tennessee congressman to speak his mind. He has bucked liberal dogma on foreign policy and the Keystone XL pipeline, and offers independent, common sense ideas.
***
9. Sen. Joe Manchin
West Virginia’s junior senator can tout his experience as governor and his victory in a tough political climate. He appeals to independents with his opposition to climate change legislation, and his criticismof his own party’s stalling in the Senate.
***
8. Sen. Mark Warner
A favorite of party moderates, Warner was a popular governor of Virginia before being elected to the Senate, and also has private sector experience. He declined to seek the Democratic nomination in 2008, though he might have won it–then, or now.
***
7. Chris Wallace
Conservatives know him as a trusted anchor at Fox News–but he’s also a registered Democrat in Washington, D.C., adding bipartisan appeal to his communication skills.
***
6. Mayor Corey Booker
The mayor of Newark is a Rhodes scholar who, unlike Obama, has made his way in politics the hard way–by fighting corruption and reforming government.
***
5. Gov. Andrew Cuomo
His role in the housing crisis notwithstanding, he managed to balance the state budget without raising taxes, setting an example for other big states. He is now proposing a tax hike, but deserves credit for showing spending restraint first.
***
4. Sen. Ron Wyden
Though the senior senator from Oregon is liberal on social issues and foreign policy, he has shown sincere interest in real solutions to pressing policy issues. For example, he joined Rep. Paul Ryan (R-WI) in proposing sweeping Medicare reform.
***
3. Secretary Hillary Clinton
Many Democrats agree that Clinton ought to have been their party’s nominee in 2012 rather than the inexperienced, untested Obama. She is the country’s most popular politician–even though she has enacted Obama’s dubious foreign policy.
***
2. Sen. Evan Bayh
The former Indiana senator and governor was the future of his party–until he decided against re-election in 2010, bemoaning the deepening divisions and the lack of real debate. In a comeback, he would offer an alternative to Obama’s class warfare.
***
1. Sen. Joe Lieberman
1. Joe Lieberman – in ten years, the retiring senator fell from vice-presidential candidate to party outcast. The Democrat “netroots” purged him in 2006 in favor of anti-war one-percenter Ned Lamont. Yet Lieberman’s hawkish views on foreign policy, his strong bipartisan record, and his integrity still make him the best Democrats have to offer.
***
None of the candidates above would have a good chance of winning in 2012; the party as a whole has become so committed to big government and the old “tax-and-spend” agenda that voters haven’t hesitated to punish moderates as well as radicals.
Yet each would stand a better chance than Obama–and each would elevate our national debate from the bitter depths to which he and his Chicago team are determined to drag it.

Acting House speaker: ‘Mr. Hoyer was in violation of the House rules’ [VIDEO]

Acting House speaker: ‘Mr. Hoyer was in violation of the House rules’ [VIDEO]

Pennsylvania Republican Rep. Mike Fitzpatrick, who served as the presiding officer in a pro forma session of the House Wednesday, told The Daily Caller that Minority Whip Steny Hoyer was in “violation of the House rules” when requesting to be recognized on the floor in an attempt to force a vote on the Senate’s two-month payroll tax cut extension. Fitzpatrick called Hoyer’s actions a “publicity stunt.”

“I was the presiding officer on the floor of the House in a pro forma session when Mr. Hoyer requested to be recognized — in violation of the House rules, I might add,” Fitzpatrick told TheDC in an exclusive interview at the Capitol on Wednesday night.
“There’s a longstanding policy, it goes back through speakers of the House, all the way back to Tip O’Neill in 1981 that requires for unanimous consent that both parties’ leadership accede to the request for the unanimous consent offer. Mr. Hoyer is a former Majority Leader of the House, he knows the rules or should know the rules and it was my job to enforce them and I did.”
Hoyer directly criticized Fitzpatrick in a press conference after the session ended.
“Mr. Van Hollen and I just participated on the floor of the House and sought to seek recognition so that we could ask unanimous consent to place on the floor and to pass legislation which would give certainty and assurance to seniors, to the unemployed and to 160 million Americans who are at risk of losing their tax cut on January 1st… Unfortunately, as has happened so often, the acting speaker, Republican presiding officer, walked out. He walked out, would not render recognition and would not allow Mr. Van Hollen and I to make that unanimous consent request and move forward,” he said.
“This is unfortunate,” said Hoyer. “The irony is that he appointed five conferees, all of whom at one point or another have said that they are opposed to a one-year extension of the middle-class tax cut, and in fact, have made comments similar to the speaker’s that the middle-class tax cut is a gimmick.”
According to official House rules, “The Speaker has announced and enforced a policy of conferring recognition for unanimous-consent requests for the consideration of unreported bills and resolutions only when assured that majority and minority floor and committee leaderships have no objections.” The policy has been extended to reported bills as well.
Fitzpatrick fired back at Hoyer, saying he was attempting to turn the House floor into a press conference.
“Frankly, Mr. Hoyer was in violation of the House rules requesting to be recognized. He knew it was in violation of the House rules. Frankly, it was a publicity stunt on their part. They were trying to call essentially what amounted to a press conference on the floor of the House and I enforced the rules,” Fitzpatrick told TheDC.

Moving beyond Freddie and Fannie

Moving beyond Freddie and Fannie

The term “permanent conservatorship” is an oxymoron. By its very construct, the conservatorship of a corporation is meant to be temporary. And yet three years after the bailout of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, we are no closer to transitioning them off government life support than we were the day in 2008 when they came under direct government control.
This is unacceptable.

A delay in dealing with Fannie and Freddie was partly inevitable, as policymakers worried that any misstep could negatively affect a fragile housing market. But we have come to a point where continued inaction impedes the ability of the private market to take over a function the government has completely mismanaged. We must move beyond Fannie and Freddie, immediately.
This task will not be politically easy. Many of the institutions that have come to rely on the corporate welfare Fannie and Freddie provide have argued that we cannot have a housing finance system without the support of government-sponsored enterprises (GSEs). This argument not only ignores the risks taxpayers are forced to bear but also fundamentally misrepresents the structure of the housing finance system.
Broadly speaking, the risks inherent in mortgage lending can be placed in two categories, interest rate risk and credit risk. Interest rate risk stems from the fact that homeowners can prepay their mortgages at any time, and they generally choose to do so when interest rates are low. This leaves the lender with the tricky job of managing an asset-liability mismatch. But the private sector has proved capable of the task. In fact, the development of the risk management infrastructure to deal with this challenge remains a great accomplishment of modern finance.
The second risk in mortgage lending is credit risk, or the risk that a borrower will default on his or her mortgage. Today, mortgage credit risk is almost completely priced and managed by the government. Having “crowded out” private investors by charging an insurance premium that was too cheap, the GSEs are saddled with $5 trillion worth of bad credit. This is a tragedy of our own making. During the boom years, the GSEs’ affordable housing goals were coupled with a Congress and an administration that saw only the bright side of rapidly increasing homeownership rates. That meant that as housing prices began to spike, it was impossible to make credit slightly more expensive. Without countercyclical market mechanisms able to operate naturally, as housing prices went higher, the GSEs simply raced each other to lower guarantee fees, out of fear that they might lose business from mortgage originators such as Countrywide and Washington Mutual. The result, we now know, was a government-induced bubble followed by a painful collapse.
This month I introduced legislation that can help bring private capital back into this market in an orderly fashion. The Residential Mortgage Market Privatization and Standardization Act would reduce the federal government’s exposure to GSEs by 10 percent per year for 10 years. It will do this by gradually diminishing the percentage of an agency mortgage-backed security that is backstopped by the taxpayer. This methodical process will allow for clear market signals, so everyone can easily see where the market and the government each price credit risk. Additionally, the bill includes some basic infrastructure improvements, such as creating uniform servicing agreements, putting in place some minimum underwriting standards — such as a 5 percent minimum down payment and requiring that loans be fully documented — and making available for public consumption the large amount of data sitting in the vaults at Fannie and Freddie. Such initiatives would put us on a path toward a sustainable housing finance system for the long run.
Ultimately, the market will price mortgage credit risk much more efficiently than does the government. We should not be deterred by red-herring arguments to the contrary. Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac are costing taxpayers billions of dollars every year. We must begin the process of unwinding the GSEs. “Permanent conservatorship” is not a credible plan.

OBAMA‘S CLAIM THAT HE’S THE FOURTH BEST PRESIDENT

‘60 MINUTES’ EDITS OUT OBAMA‘S CLAIM THAT HE’S THE FOURTH BEST PRESIDENT

AP
President Barack Obama sat for an extensive interview with CBS’s “60 Minutes” last week, though it appears the portion of the interview actually broadcast on TV left out a statement where Obama essentially declared himself the fourth best president in terms of his accomplishments.
The statement was only made available online as part of the full interview on “60 Minutes Overtime.”
According to a transcript posted on the “60 Minutes” website, Obama said he would hold his accomplishments so far as president against those of Lyndon B. Johnson, Franklin Delano Roosevelt and Abraham Lincoln.
“I would put our legislative and foreign policy accomplishments in our first two years against any president — with the possible exceptions of Johnson, F.D.R., and Lincoln — just in terms of what we’ve gotten done in modern history,” Obama told CBS’s Steve Kroft.
Watch the full interview below. The statement comes at the very end, around the 56:10 mark of the 56:53-minute video:
