It's time to publicly shame United Airlines' so-called online security

ua Dear executives of United Airlines, I have some advice for you. 1: Fire whoever is in charge of your online security. 2: Burn down the building in which they worked; it may be tainted. 3: Salt the ground so nothing ever grows there again, to be safe. 4: Hire somebody competent who will not infuriate your users while simultaneously compromising their security. The Week in Pictures: Suction Cup Edition

(Steven Hayward) Forget the Olympics. The dude climbing Trump Tower with suction cups was the sports highlight of the week, hands down. I'm amazed it isn't being proposed as a new Olympic sport. Meanwhile, one of the candidates had another terrible week. Lied about things; said stupid stuff to reporters. Yeah, that's right—it was the one who fancies pantsuits. The media hardly seemed to notice. This week's gallery, by the way, achieves

Was E.E. Cummings the Holden Caulfield of American Poetry?

A "complete" or "collected" poems can do things for a poet. Such a volume can also stand as the crowning achievement of a poet's illustrious writing life. But it can also show a poet's limitations even as it exhibits his or her strengths.

Bill Clinton Defends Hillary Over E-Mail Server Controversy

Former President Bill Clinton says the classification system of sensitive e-mails was "too complicated to explain to people", in a reply to a question at a town hall meeting in Las Vegas hosted by Asian and Pacific Islander American Vote and Asian American Journalists Association. "The FBI director said when he testified before Congress he had to amend his previous statement that she never received any emails that were classified," Clinton says. "This is the biggest load of bull I'd ever heard"

(Paul Mirengoff) A few days ago, CNN reported that the FBI asked to investigate the Clinton Foundation earlier this year, but the Department of Justice said it did not have enough evidence to open a formal probe. I wrote about this report here. But now, the Daily Caller is saying that several investigations of the Clinton Foundation have been launched, including one led by U.S. Attorney Preet Bharara of the Civil Frauds

A prescription for preventing 3D printing piracy

Scattered colorful medical pills and capsules In the year 2000, the music business was still strong. Record companies produced albums and shipped these physical objects to the stores that sold them. The internet was slowly becoming a system of mass consumption and distribution, but the majority of consumers still purchased physical media. And while the record industry was aware of piracy online, the threat seemed minimal. Then came Napster. Read More

AP Reporter Volunteers as Witness For Hillary

(John Hinderaker) Over the last several election cycles, the liberal media has progressively emerged from the closet, supporting its candidates (i.e., Democrats) more and more openly. This year, with open declarations of war on Donald Trump by the New York Times, the Associated Press and others, all pretense of neutrality has been set aside. The latest instance, a truly extraordinary one, comes from Associated Press reporter Lisa Lerer, who, in an AP
